RAWALPINDI: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi on Thursday suspended an invigilator of the matric second annual examination in Chakwal on the violation of standard operating procedures.

The second annual matriculation exam 2026 is currently underway. According to board spokesman Arslan Cheema, the examination centres were being monitored via CCTV cameras with a command and control centre conducting online surveillance of sensitive and high-risk centres.

Furthermore, mobile inspection teams are active in the field to ensure strict adherence to examination SOPs. He said during the checking of an examination centre in Chakwal, the centre of excellence, violation of the SOPs was observed.

“The invigilator responsible was immediately removed from duty, and a recommendation was made to initiate a departmental inquiry and further disciplinary action,” he added.

He said that the controller of examinations made it clear that any negligence, laxity or violation of the code of conduct regarding examination duties would not be tolerated, and that a robust monitoring system would remain in place to ensure the transparency of the examination process.

Board Chairman Professor Dr Iqbal Mahmood emphasised that there will be no compromise on the examination code of conduct. Providing an optimal and conducive environment for candidates is top priority.

He said a transparent examination system will safeguard merit and rights of hardworking students.

Tanveer Asghar Awan, Controller of Examinations, visited examination centres at Government Graduate College Talagang, Government Associate College for Women Chakwal and the Centre of Excellence (GHS) Chakwal to review the examination arrangements and the implementation of SOPs.
