PESHAWAR, Feb 10: The NWFP University of Engineering and Technology will celebrate its golden jubilee week this year.

This was decided at a meeting held at the university after a visit of the NWFP Minister for Education, Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani, on Saturday. The minister went round various laboratories and sections of the university, where he was briefed about the facilities available to students. The minister was briefed in detail about the facilities and course work of the Information Technology Department. He was also introduced with the faculty members there.

Later, a meeting was held in the conference room of the university in which the vice-chancellor and registrar of the university appreciated the interest shown by the minister in the university affairs.

They pointed out that a large number of professionals had been produced by the university who had been serving the nation in different fields. The minister himself is a product of the institution.

They said five of its graduates had recently been elected district Nazim.
