KARACHI: The Sindh government has signed an agreement with the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) under the Academic Record Integration Project to connect all educational boards in the province with the authority’s secure digital system.

According to a press release issued here on Monday, Sindh has become the first province in the country to sign such an agreement.

Universities and Boards Minister Ismail Rahoo said the initiative would help prevent fake academic certificates and impersonation in examinations by ensuring that students’ educational records were digitally secured and verifiable.

Under the agreement, verified academic certificates will be made available through the Pak ID mobile application. A mechanism will also be developed to assign a unique identification number to every student to ensure accurate identification and verification of academic records.

Mr Rahoo said the initiative marked an important step towards the digitalisation of educational records and greater transparency in the examination system.

He added that the provincial government was taking practical measures to modernise the education system in line with digital requirements and strengthen public confidence in the authenticity of academic credentials.

Nadra official Aamir Ali Khan said the authority would provide the integration facility to all educational boards free of charge. “The initiative is expected to improve the secure management, verification and accessibility of academic records.”
