SUKKUR: A man was killed when an armed clash erupted once again between two rival groups of the Jakhrani tribe over an alleged honour-related dispute within the jurisdiction of Mohammadpur police station in Garhi Khairo, Jacobabad.

The feud had already claimed 12 lives over the past several years.

According to a report, members of the rival Sanani and Sehwani communities allegedly opened fire on each other with sophisticated weapons.

One of them, later identified as Shahmeer Sehwani-Jakhrani, was killed in the firing.

Police reached the site and shifted the body to the Garhi Khairo hospital for a postmortem examination and later handed it over to the heirs.

Both groups reportedly took up positions in their respective areas following the incident.

No case had been registered and no arrest made by the time this report was filed.
