Shayan bags U-14 title

KARACHI: Shayan Afridi in an impressive performance downed Meer Bhagat in the boys U-14 final of the 23rd Westbury National Juniors and Seniors Tennis Championship here at Karachi Club on Friday.

According to the Karachi Tennis Association, Shayan won the decider 4-2, 4-0.

Meanwhile, Ibraheem Gill outplayed Majid Bachani 4-1, 4-0 in the boys U-12 decider.

Boys U-14 singles (final): Shayan Afridi bt Meer Bhagat 4-2, 4-0

Boys U-12 (final): Ibraheem Gill bt Majid Bachani 4-1, 4-0

Girls U-12 (semi-finals): Dua Yousuf bt Reeha 4-0, 4-0; Shanaya Sheikh bt Alina Rizwan 4-2, 4-1

Girls U-18 (semi-finals): Ayla Benazir bt Zayna Khan 7-5, 6-4; Anaya Khan bt Oreezeh Haroon 6-1, 6-3

Girls U-14 (quarter-finals): Dua Yousuf bt Kavashari 4-1, 4-0; Shanaya Sheikh bt Aryana Raheel 4-0, 4-1

U-10 (semi-finals): Raaif bt Hamza Sattar 4-1, 5-4; Zayan Nomi bt Rayyan Jahangir 2-4, 4-1, 4-2

55-plus doubles (semi-finals): Altaf/Karim bt Razi/M. Saeed 9-8; Iltifat/Javed bt Pervez/Amir 8-5

Girls U-14 singles (semi-final): Zohha Imad bt Anaya Khan 4-2, 5-3.
