BAHAWALPUR: Abbasnagar police solved the mystery of married woman’s murder, recovered her body and arrested her husband and two brothers-in-law a month after the incident.

According to the police, one Muhammad Hussain of Chak 31/BC registered an FIR on Sept 14 about the suspected abduction and murder of his daughter, Shahida Parveen, who was married to Rashid Minhas about four years ago.

During investigation, it was revealed that Shahida’s elder brother-in-law Qamar Sajjad was impersonating a doctor on the pretext of running a non-government organisation (NGO).

Police found a clue that Qamar under the disguise of running an NGO was allegedly involved in some illegal business, involving women. Shahida opposed Qamar’s illegal activities due to which Qamar was against Shahida, fearing that she might disclose his secret activities to police.

Qamar hatched a conspiracy and persuaded her husband Rashid and his third brother Boota to eliminate her from the scene and planned to kill her. All three staged a drama that Shahida had disappeared from house while they had allegedly killed her and buried her body in a ditch in the Hasilpur area.

Abbasnagar SHO Fazal Hussain confirmed that Shahida’s body had been recovered from a ditch on the identification of Qamar and his two brothers and shifted to hospital for a post-mortem. Police arrested the three suspects.
