LAHORE: The Environment Protection and Climate Change Department (EPCCD) has launched “Earth Notes”, a dedicated climate and environment blog aimed at promoting public awareness, evidence-based discussion and collective action for a greener and more resilient Punjab.
The initiative provides a digital platform for researchers, practitioners, students, departmental specialists, journalists and informed citizens to share research, field experiences and practical solutions relating to environmental and climate challenges.
EPCCD Secretary Silwat Saeed said the initiative would make environmental knowledge more accessible and connect policy with citizens, researchers and communities. She said environmental protection could not be achieved through government action alone and required informed public participation, credible research and sustained engagement by all stakeholders.
She said innovative initiatives, enforcement of environmental laws and community engagement were made to promote a cleaner and healthier Punjab.
The Earth Notes website says its editorial approach is based on clear language, credible sources and thoughtful discussion. It invites contributions that examine environmental problems, present evidence and offer practical solutions, while guest contributions remain the responsibility of their authors and do not necessarily represent the official position of the department.
Recent publications have examined climate-resilient urban development, biodiversity corridors, climate technology, public development planning, environmental awareness and air pollution.
