MANSEHRA: A man and a woman were killed in the name of honour here on Tuesday, police said.

An official said that the woman left her home in Battagram three months ago and eloped with the man. They were living clandestinely. “We have arrested one of the assailants, who first killed the woman and then the man at two different places,” he said.

Police shifted the bodies to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital and handed them over to their respective families after medico-legal formalities. City and Saddar police stations registered two separate FIRs.

Police said that the man was killed near his residence in Safada area while the woman was shot dead in the limits of City police station.

A brother of the deceased told police that he was already married and had three children.
