Blast damages JUI-F leader’s house in North Waziristan

NORTH WAZIRISTAN: The residence of a leader of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) was partially damaged by a blast in Hasukhel area here; however, no casualties were reported.

Sources said that unidentified people had planted explosives near the main gate of the residence of JUI-F leader Maulana Misbahullah, which triggered a blast.

The explosion damaged the gate and parts of the structure. The blast was heard far and wide. However, the inmates remained unhurt.

Police and security personnel arrived at the spot after the explosion and cordoned off the area. They collected evidence from the site.

Security was tightened in Hasukhel and surrounding areas following the explosion, while a search operation was also launched.

Law enforcement personnel were deployed at various points and surveillance was increased to prevent any further untoward incident.

Officials said that the motive behind the blast and the identity of perpetrators would be established after completion of the investigation. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
