RAWALPINDI: A man was gunned down by an unidentified person while attending a wedding ceremony in the Naseerabad area in the early hours of Sunday, police said.

The wife of the deceased, a resident of Misrial Road, lodged a complaint with the Naseerabad police, saying her husband, Mohammad Kamran, was associated with property business and was attending a wedding ceremony at a relative’s house on Saturday night.

She said she received a phone call at 2:45am that her husband had been shot and asked her to immediately come to his home. She added that she and her brother-in-law reached the house and found her husband bleeding.

She further said they called the emergency service Rescue 1122 and shifted the injured man to the District Headquarters Hospital, but he died on the way. Later, the body was handed over to his heirs after the postmortem.

She suspected that her husband had been killed allegedly over an issue involving some unidentified relatives.

The police have registered a murder case against the suspect and launched an investigation.
