Importance of robotic surgery highlighted

KARACHI: Speakers at a programme on Saturday highlighted the importance of robotic surgery and said that it not only enhanced precision and patient outcomes but also provides surgeons with greater control and accuracy.

They were speaking at the launch of Dr Ziauddin Hospital’s robotic surgery programme.

According to a press release issued here, senior PPP leader and chairman of the Ziauddin Hospitals Dr Asim Hussain said that robotic surgery was emerging as an important development in modern surgical practice.

He said the launch of robotic surgery marked another important advancement in the journey of the hospital.

Highlighting the evolution of modern surgical care at the launch ceremony, Dr Ammad Hussain, Chief Executive of Dr Ziauddin Hospitals, noted: “The evolution of surgery from conventional and laparoscopic techniques to robotic-assisted procedures represents a significant advancement in modern healthcare.”

Addressing the attendees at the programme, Dr Haris Rashid, Chair of Surgery at the hospital, emphasised the significance of robotic-assisted surgery.
