DADU: A Sui gas pipeline burst near Bhan Syedabad, producing loud explosion-like sounds that were heard in Bhan Syedabad, Khudabad, Dadu and surrounding areas.

Bhan Syedabad police said unidentified people allegedly tried to tamper with the pipeline near Barija Stop. They apparently mistook it for a PARCO oil pipeline and fitted a clamp to it, causing it to burst.

A strong smell of gas spread across the area, and supplies were suspended in several parts of Dadu and Jamshoro districts, including Bhan Syedabad and Dadu.

SSGC officials reached the site and began repairing the damaged pipeline. Police are investigating the incident and the alleged tampering.

Residents have repeatedly complained of alleged oil theft and tampering with the PARCO pipeline in various parts of Dadu and Jamshoro districts, and said such incidents were a persistent problem.
