GUJRAT: In a joint action by traffic and Lorry Adda police, seven motorcyclists doing a wheelie along the Old GT Road were arrested on Saturday.

The arrests follow public complaints as well as traffic accidents during the last few days.

District Police Officer Faisal Shahzad directed the traffic police and the Lorry Adda police to take a joint action against such elements to protect the citizens from any kind of road mishap. The joint team launched the crackdown and arrested seven suspects from the GT road. The Lorry Adda police also confiscated motorbikes.

Seven separate cases were lodged against the arrested suspects on the report of police officials and further investigation is underway.

Two youths have recently been killed while doing a wheelie in the city.

Citizens have also demanded action against underage car drivers who have been doing reckless driving on city roads.
