KARACHI, July 26: Formidable Wapda chalked up 39-23 victory over Sindh Greens to advance into the final of National Women Basketball Championship at the NSTCC on Wednesday.

They now meet Punjab Whites who prevailed 57-27 over Sindh Whites in the other pre-final.

The final between Wapda and Punjab Whites will be played on Thursday at 5.pm.

This will be preceded by 3rd-4th position play-off between the two hosts’ teams at 3.30pm.

Holders Wapda who topped group A enjoyed an edge over Sindh Greens right from the word go and led 22-16 at half time.

Laila Kulsoom and Hina Chaudhry stole the limelight scoring 15 points apiece for winners. Shakila Rehman top scored for losers with nine points.

Beenish who amassed 24 points was the main architect of group B leaders Punjab Whites triumph.

She was ably assisted by Romana (12) and Sehrish (8). For losers, Jamila Dar, Naila Mushtaq and Qurratul Ain scored eight, six and five points.
