KARACHI, July 25: Pakistan will play host to back-to-back ITF World Juniors Tennis Tournaments at Islamabad Club from Aug 20 to Sept 3, an official of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) said on Tuesday.

The first leg would be played from Aug 20 to 27 to be followed by the second from Aug 28 to Sept 3, disclosed Arif Qureshi.

Players (boys and girls) who are born between Jan 1, 1989 and Dec 31, 1993 are eligible to compete in the tournaments. Last date for submission of entries to PTF is July 31.

Meanwhile, Sindh Tennis Association (STA) has named a four-member team at the end of four-day trials for the coming Inter provincial U-18 tennis championship which gets into action at Islamabad from July 31 under the aegis of PTF.

The team comprise Yasir Khan, Nasir Mushtaq, Syed Abbas Raza and Syed Zuhair Raza.

Yasir was exempted from the trials.

This would be followed by Independence Cup at Islamabad from Aug 9 to 16 aimed at grooming the juniors for the ITF competition.
