TIMERGARA, July 25: Five people were arrested here on the charges of kidnapping a 12-year-old boy for ransom three days ago. Senior Superintendent of Police Khurshid Khan, addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, said a gang of abductors had kidnapped Javed, a resident of Shingrai, from Timergara and demanded one million rupees as ransom from his father Muhammad Yar.

A police party, headed by SHO Timergara police station Gul Shahid Khan, raided a house at Sheno Ghwandai village in Shabqadar, Charsadda, but failed to recover the boy. Later, the police with the help of political administration of Malakand Agency, constituted a jirga which recovered the boy from Sakhakot, the SSP said.

He disclosed that five accused Asif, Farooq, Nasim, Tausif and Shoaib, were arrested, while search continued for the arrest of a sixth accused, Arshad Ali.
