Acceleration of Yellow Line depot work ordered

KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has once again ordered the pace of construction work on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Yellow Line depot to be accelerated and the work on the second portion of the Jam Sadiq Bridge to be completed swiftly.

The directive was issued at a meeting of the Transport Department chaired by Mr Memon, who also holds the information and transport portfolios.

The meeting reviewed in detail the pace and progress of ongoing construction work on various sections of the Yellow Line project.

Secretary Transport Asad Zamin, Sindh Mass Transit Authority MD Behzad Memon, World Bank representatives, consultants and relevant officials attended the meeting.

The senior minister directed officials to speed up the pace of construction on the Yellow Line project, and said all available resources must be utilised for its completion.

He also instructed that the construction of the Yellow Line depot and other related works be expedited, stating that completing all foundational infrastructure, including the project’s depot, on time is crucial.

He said the Yellow Line was a vital mass transit project for the citizens of Karachi.

The senior minister further ordered the quick completion of the second section of the Jam Sadiq Bridge.

He also instructed daily monitoring of progress on the Yellow Line project and directed authorities to submit daily progress reports.
