PESHAWAR, July 24: The governments of South Korean and Pakistan have signed a memorandum of understanding under which the Korean government would provide $2.05 million grant for relief work in Mansehra district.

A press release issued here on Monday by the embassy of the Republic of Korea said that the Korean government had offered to help in relief efforts in the wake of earthquake that hit the country on Oct 8 last year.

The MoU was signed on Monday by Ambassador Kim Jooseok and Khalid Saeed, secretary Economic Affairs Division of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Statistics. The amount will be utilised for rehabilitation of quake survivors in consultation with the government of Pakistan, the press release said.

It was agreed that the grant will be utilised through Korea International Cooperation Agency.
