QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti on Friday said that the provincial government is pursuing a strict zero-tolerance policy against narcotics.

On social media platform X, Mr Bugti said that over the past two years, law-enforcement agencies in Balochistan have seized and destroyed narcotics worth more than Rs133 billion.

He described this achievement as a testament to the government’s firm resolve and the effective performance of security institutions in combating drug trafficking.

Mr Bugti said that during operations, 1,638 kilogrammes of crystal meth (ice) and 620 kilogrammes of hashish were confiscated and destroyed. Additionally, more than 27,000 bottles and cans of foreign liquor and beer were seized and destroyed.

He emphasised that the anti-narcotics drive is not merely a law enforcement activity but a comprehensive effort to safeguard the future of the younger generation of the province. The government, he said, is committed to strengthening anti-narcotics measures while also addressing the social impacts of drug abuse.

The chief minister said that the government is determined to build a safe, healthy, and drug-free society.
