QUETTA: Unknown armed men gunned down an Afghan national in the Kuchlak Bypass area, about 30km from here, on Thursday.

It was the third incident involving the killing of Afghan nationals, including a former commander of the Afghan National Army, during the past two weeks.

Police said armed men riding motorcycles opened fire on the man, who was killed on the spot after sustaining multiple bullet wounds.

Police shifted the body to Civil Hospital for an autopsy.

The deceased was an Afghan national from Helmand province.
