ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad district administration has held a meeting with religious scholars and representatives of various schools of thought to review arrangements for Rabiul Awwal events.
Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon chaired the meeting, which was also attended by officials of the capital police and administration.
The capital administration said a detailed review of arrangements for processions, gatherings and other religious events on the occasion of 12 Rabiul Awwal was held at the meeting.
Ulema and organisers of processions and gatherings gave recommendations and briefed the participants on administrative matters related to the occasion.
The meeting discussed procession routes, security, traffic management and other administrative matters. Instructions were issued to relevant officers to ensure foolproof security and smooth traffic flow on the occasion. Cleanliness, lighting and other necessary arrangements along the procession routes were also agreed upon.
It was agreed to maintain effective communication and coordination among the administration, police and procession organisers. Religious scholars from all schools of thought assured full cooperation to maintain peace, order and religious harmony on the occasion.
The convenience and security of people during religious gatherings and processions would be the top priority, the DC said, adding that arrangements for 12 Rabiul Awwal would be made in consultation with all relevant institutions, ulema and scholars.
Joint steps would be taken to maintain an atmosphere of religious tolerance, brotherhood and peace in the federal capital, Mr Memon said, adding that all relevant authorities and departments should perform their responsibilities on the occasion with complete coordination.
