LAHORE: The Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) claimed to have arrested alleged notorious drug smuggler Shahidullah Khan during a crackdown in Rawalpindi and recovered 108 cocaine-filled capsules.

The raid was carried out following an information that the suspect was smuggling illegal narcotics to Saudi Arabia.

A CNF spokesperson said that a team rounded up a suspicious vehicle at the Fateh Jang-Tarnol Interchange and recovered the drugs. He said that the estimated value of the recovered narcotics was Rs43.2 million, while the CNF had expanded the scope of operations against drug dealers to eliminate associated networks.

The spokesperson said that CNF teams had been dispatched to tighten the noose around drug dealers and their facilitators. The Punjab CNF was committed to curb the menace of drugs collectively with the help of the society, he added.
