Gang selling unregistered, fake drugs busted in Gujranwala

GUJRAT: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested a suspect and claimed to have unearthed a gang involved in selling unregistered and fake medicines as well as government drugs during a raid at a warehouse in Gujranwala’s Asif Colony on Saturday. As per details, an FIA team raided a medical store and an adjacent warehouse located near a graveyard along the Hafizabad road in Gujranwala.

An FIA official told Dawn that the medicine warehouse was being operated without government approval and when the raid was conducted, the FIA team found a huge quantity of unregistered and fake medicines. Moreover, he said that government medicines were also found during the raid at the store and its warehouse.

He said that a drug inspector also accompanied the raiding team that sealed the medical store and the warehouse after the recovery of a huge quantity of medicines.

The FIA registered a case against Shahzaib, Abu Hanzala Butt and Muhammad Shahbaz, whereas Shahzeb was arrested in the raid and further investigations were underway.
