TAXILA: Participants of the District Coordination Committee meeting were informed on Sunday that 33 major development schemes, costing more than Rs21.15 billion, would be completed in Attock district during the current fiscal year.
The meeting, presided over by Member National Assembly Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, reviewed progress on development projects being executed under the Annual Development Programme across the district, besides discussing the overall law and order situation.
The meeting was attended by Wasa Chairman Chaudhry Sher Ali, MPA Malik Aitbar Khan, Deputy Commissioner Attock Dr Mudassir Ahmad Shah, DPO Attock Capt (Retd) Ali Bin Tariq, additional deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners, officers of various government departments, Chairman Health Committee Attock Malik Hameed Akbar and other officials.
Mr Aftab said development of Attock and provision of basic facilities to its people remained among the government’s top priorities. He directed the departments concerned to complete all ongoing schemes within the stipulated time so that residents could benefit from the projects at the earliest.
Officials briefed the participants about the progress, current status and hurdles affecting various development schemes. The meeting was informed that 33 major projects, involving an estimated cost of more than Rs21.15bn, were being executed across the district and were scheduled for completion during the current fiscal year.
Mr Aftab directed officials to closely monitor the pace of work and ensure that public funds were utilised transparently and efficiently.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Mudassir Ahmad Shah assured the meeting that the district administration was closely monitoring all development schemes and taking steps to ensure their completion according to prescribed targets.
The meeting agreed to further strengthen coordination among government departments to remove hurdles and accelerate development work.
