Three held with 36kg hashish, 1.5kg ice

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise and Narcotics Control Department on Saturday foiled two separate smuggling attempts, seizing 36kg hashish and 1.5kg ice drug and arresting three suspects in Peshawar and Charsadda.

The first operation was carried out by the Bureau of Intelligence and Investigation Squad B-1, which intercepted a vehicle near Gol Chowk in Peshawar. Officials recovered 18kg of hashish and 1.5kg ice hidden inside the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Zubair of the Palosai area, was arrested.

In the second raid, the excise police in Charsadda stopped a vehicle near the Parang cemetery.

A search of the vehicle yielded another 18kg of hashish.

Two suspects from Lahore, identified as Jamal Iftikhar and Adeel Abdul Qayyum, were arrested.

Cases were registered against them, and further investigation started.
