Gilani urges nation to follow Prophet’s teachings

ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has urged the nation to renew its commitment to following the teachings and example of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and promote peace, harmony and brotherhood in society.

He also urged people to remember the poor, needy and vulnerable segments of society and share their happiness with them. He expressed these views in his message on the commencement of Rabiul Awwal.

He said the blessed month holds special significance as it is associated with the birth of the holy Prophet whose life and teachings are a timeless message of mercy, peace, love, tolerance and brotherhood for all humanity.

The chairman Senate said the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) provides complete guidance for every aspect of life and teaches us the values of justice, equality, compassion, patience, tolerance and respect for the rights of others.

He also paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the security, sovereignty and defence of Pakistan, praying for the elevation of their ranks and patience for their families. He also prayed that Allah Almighty bless Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah with peace, prosperity, unity and stability, protect the country from all challenges.
