KARACHI: “This day, which we celebrate every year, is at once a challenge and an opportunity for rededication to the great task of state-building set us by the Quaid-i-Azam,” says Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan in a Pakistan Day message to the Nation. The message adds: “We have weathered many a storm and our course has been firm. By patient endurance of hardships and constructive effort we have won the respect of nations. But there is no room for complacency. The task is long and arduous.
“Let us march on with Unity, Faith and Discipline as our beacons. Let this Islamic Democracy of Pakistan set an example of peace, prosperity and harmonious progress for a world torn between conflicting ideologies. PAKISTAN ZINDABAD!”
A salute of 101 guns will herald the dawn of Pakistan Day in Karachi today (Tuesday) — the fourth anniversary of the establishment of Pakistan. Special morning prayers will be held in every mosque and place of worship at 6 a.m. National Flag will be hoisted on all public and private buildings at 6-35 a.m. Flag hoisting and special prayers in schools will be held between 7 and 8 a.m.
