KARACHI: Governor Nehal Hashmi said on Friday that the country’s development depended on an educated, disciplined and hard-working younger generation, calling children the “bright future” and the “nation’s greatest asset”.

Addressing students from various schools during an educational tour of Governor House, he said progress and prosperity could only be achieved through focus on education, character-building, proper training and continuous hard work.

The students visited the Quaid Room to see the personal belongings of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and other historical artifacts.

They also watched special documentary From Jinnah to Quaid, highlighting the struggle of the Founder of Pakistan and the Pakistan Movement.

Later, they toured the Jinnah Residency to view memorabilia associated with the founder of Pakistan.

During the interaction, the governor obtained a pledge from the students that each would plant at least one tree and take responsibility for its care. “Planting trees is not only essential for protecting the environment but also a practical expression of love for one’s country,” he said.
