DERA GHAZI KHAN: Google IT training programme for 500 students of the Dera Ghazi Khan division was officially handed over here on Friday to the DGK Commissioner by Parco (mid county oil refinery).

A meeting was convened here under the chairmanship of Commissioner Ashfaq Ahmed Chaudhry to review social welfare, development projects and security measures related to the Parco and Qasba Gujrat.

During the meeting, Director Development Ms Inam Hafeez delivered a detailed briefing on ongoing development initiatives, highlighting significant progress on multiple fronts.

These included improvement to the Jamko Bypass, establishment of a model trauma center at the Rural Health Center (RHC) of Qasba Gujrat, upgrade of government schools with Parco’s support, operationalisation of water filtration plants, construction of the Shahrah-e-Parco road, completion of the new Qasba Gujrat police station building, and various other public welfare projects. She confirmed that the Shahrah-e-Parco project had reached completion and the new police station building was ready.

Parco’s Head of Social Welfare Nadeem Ajwad Chishti informed the meeting that last year, 250 students from the Dera Ghazi Khan Division received training in modern IT skills through Parco’s Google IT Scholarship Programme. This year, the program would be expanded to provide free training to 500 students via the Google IT Scholarship initiative, aimed at equipping young people with skills required for the digital economy and creating improved opportunities for dignified employment.
