SWEAGE ON THE ROAD: Sewage water has been flooding the busy road opposite the Bahria University in Karachi for more than a month. Traffic slows down at this point and the road gets blocked throughout the day. Furthermore, there are large potholes on the road that are not visible due to the presence of overflowing sewage. The authorities concerned should take necessary measures to fix this matter permanently without any delay.

WATER SHORTAGE: The residents of Mehmoodabad No. 6 in Karachi are facing serious difficulties due to lack of water supply and unfinished sewerage work. Water does not reach many homes, forcing people to spend thousands of rupees on water tankers. Streets that were dug up for laying a sewerage pipeline still await project completion, making it difficult for area residents and vehicles to move around. The authorities concerned should restore water supply and complete the delayed road repairs as soon as possible.

GWADAR’S WATER WOES: The water crisis in Gwadar district has gone from bad to worse with time. Residents do not have access to clean water, and, since most families are poor and cannot afford to buy water tankers costing up to Rs5,000, their lives have become a constant agony. Both federal and provincial governments should step forward to resolve this crisis. The people of Gwadar deserve to have access to clean and safe water.

SOLAR POWER at FARMS: The provincial government in Balochistan should consider facilitating the installation of solar power systems in rural communities. Due to the current shortage of electricity, farmers are unable to cultivate crops. Electricity is available for only about four hours a day. Even then, due to low voltage, motors cannot run properly. As a result, crops are dying and framers are suffering huge losses.
