ISLAMABAD: The JJ Group has won the elections of the Islamabad Regional Cricket Association from all four zones of the federal capital, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced on Monday.

According to the results notification issued by PCB election commissioner Mansoor Qadir, the JJ Group won the elections of Islamabad’s Central Zone, East Zone, North Zone and Central Zone.

The group won the East Zone unopposed, North Zone 13-1, West Zone 8-2 and Central Zone 7-4. The elections were held at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.

“The JJ Group completed a clean sweep, ending the previous administration’s 26-year hold on the Islamabad Cricket Association,” said a spokesperson of JJ Group.

Junaid Akhtar Satti, the head of the JJ Group, it seems, will be elected as the president of the IRCA.

Earlier, Shakil Shaikh served as the president of IRCA as his group remained in power for many years.
