QUETTA, July 16: The Balochistan National Party has rejected an announcement made by the government about implementing the recommendations of the parliamentary committee on Balochistan and said that no agreement will be made with the authorities without international guarantors.

Speaking at a public meeting held in Kalat, the party’s chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal said that the BNPs and other nationalist groups had already rejected recommendations as they did not include points suggested by Baloch leaders.

He said that a large number of people had left their homes because of military operations and, therefore, preparation of electoral lists in the province was not possible.

He condemned the military operation in Dera Bugti and Kohlu and the use of helicopter gunships against Bugti and Marri tribesmen.

“The international community must take notice of the use of jet planes and helicopters given by the United States for action against Al Qaeda and Taliban.
