Rs239.3bn raised via hybrid sukuk

KARACHI: The Mini­stry of Finance, in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan and ca­­pital market institutions, raised Rs239.325 billion through the inaugural is­­suance of Short-Term Go­­vernment of Pakistan Hy­­brid Sukuk through the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

According to a press re­­lease issued on Wednes­d­­ay, the auction introdu­ced three-month and six-month Shariah-compliant instruments backed by sovereign guarantee, ext­ending the range of tenors under the GoP Sukuk programme.

The issue received bids worth Rs770.234bn in face value, equivalent to Rs741.287bn in realised value, reflecting strong investor interest. The fin­ance ministry accep­ted about 32 per cent of bids.

The issuance was jointly facilitated by Meezan Ban­­k-led JFAs and CMIIs inc­luding PSX, NCCPL and CDCPL.
