ST JOHN’S (Antigua), July 13: West Indies fast bowler Jerome Taylor has been withdrawn from West Indies ‘A’ cricket team tour to England and replaced by all-rounder Omari Banks.

Coach Bennett King said decision was taken out of abundance of caution. “Due to Taylor's history of injuries, and amount of cricket to played from October to World Cup, West Indies Cricket Board has decided to go down road of caution and ease his workload.”

The 16-man squad departs for London on July 17 and return on Aug 21. It will play nine matches, including a two-day fixture against Pakistan.

The one-day matches are against Worcestershire, Derbyshire, Glamorgan and Hampshire while three-day matches are against Durham, Leicestershire, Warwickshire and Nottinghamshire.

Squad: Sylvester Joseph (captain), Ryan Hinds (vice captain), Devon Smith, Sewnarine Chattergoon, Runako Morton, Dwayne Smith, Lendl Simmons, Jason Mohammed, Darren Sammy, Patrick Browne (wicket-keeper), Richard Kelly, Omari Banks, Daren Powell, Tino Best, Dave Mohammed and Andrew Richardson.—Agencies
