ABBOTTABAD, July 12: Tourists coming from various parts of the country have to pay an illegal and unauthorised tax at the Harlow Bridge which is collected by a private hotel owner from Harlow Aziz Abad by erecting a barrier at the bridge.

Harlow Aziz Abad is a point of tourist interest on the Abbottabad-Nathiagali road, 10km from Abbottabad, where visitors from all over the country take rest on the bank of “ River Door”. There is no facility for tourists at this point except cold water coming from the upper hilly areas of Nathiagali and Kala Bagh.

Galyat Development Authority, which is supposed to take care of the places, has kept quiet over the issue and a huge amount is being collected illegally by an unauthorised person.

The local residents and tourists complaining of the lack of facility have demanded of the concerned authority to remove the barrier and stop collection of toll tax.
