OKARA: The Narcotics Counter Station (NCS), Sahiwal, has booked a journalist on recovery of narcotics and an illegal weapon.

As per the first information report (FIR), NCS Police Station, on a tip-off, raided the house of Mehr Allahyar at village Maroola Sharif, tehsil Okara, three days back, who introduced himself to police.

The raiding team, including a lady constable, claimed to have found a 12-bore shotgun, 1,333 gram charas,145 grams of opium and a digital scale.

A case was registered on the report of Sub-Inspector Muhammad Bilal.

MPA Chaudhry Ghulam Raza Rabaira sent a letter to Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, saying that Mehr Allahyar was a law-abiding citizen and he had been booked due to a personal rivalry.

He demanded an investigation into the case by a senior official.

The local journalist bodies have demanded Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take notice of the fake FIR registered against Allahyar.
