GWADAR: A man was killed on Thursday when an improvised explosive device planted on his motorcycle detonated outside a religious leader’s guesthouse in the coastal town of Ormara, police said.

The victim, identified by police only as Raja, son of Charshambay, was killed instantly when he attempted to start the vehicle early on Thursday, said Ormara SHO Bashir Ahmed.

Raja, a resident of the Makola area in Pasni, had stayed on Wednesday night at the guesthouse of local religious leader Syed Muheem Jan. Following the blast, police and navy personnel cordoned off the area to begin a preliminary investigation.
