PESHAWAR, July 11: Army troops found 13 bodies and rescued 12 tribesmen in a flood-hit area of the North Waziristan Agency, said a press release on Tuesday. The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the troops conducted search and rescue operation through helicopters in the flood-hit areas of North Waziristan.

Torrential rains lashed the agency on Sunday night, which caused heavy flood in river Toochi and its tributaries. Flash floods caused by hill torrents also damaged standing crops and agriculture.

The troops retrieved 13 bodies and rescued 12 others from the damaged houses in Guvek and Faqir of Api areas of the agency, the ISPR said.

Doctors and paramedical staff of the Army Medical Corps have been sent to the affected areas and 300 people were provided medical treatment and food items.
