Robbers strike at six places in capital

ISLAMABAD: Robbers and burglars looted cash and valuables worth millions of rupees in different places in the capital, police said.

In the first incident, a gang of robbers looted cash and valuables worth Rs400,000 from a house at H-13. Three persons armed with weapons raided the house of Ziaullah and held him up at gunpoint. They snatched a mobile phone from him and later looted cash Rs74,000, gold ornaments, a laptop, household items and edibles, including meat, and escaped.

In another incident, robbers looted cash and mobile phones from the shop of Mohammad Saeed in Sohan.

Two persons armed with weapons raided the auctioneer’s shop and held up the owner, his cousin, two employees and two customers at gunpoint. The gunmen looted cash and seven mobile phones and escaped.

Moreover, robbers also looted cash and a mobile phone from a man at I-14/4. Tariq Mehmood and his son were travelling on a bike when they were intercepted and held at gunpoint. The robbers looted cash Rs400,000 and a mobile phone and escaped.

Likewise, a gang of robbers looted cash and a phone from a man at G-7/1. Mohammad Aftab Khan told the police that the gunmen snatched Rs49,000 and five mobile phones from him.

Meanwhile, burglars stole Rs9.9 million from a house at F-11/2. Mohammad Ajayab complained to the police that in the absence of the residents the burglars broke into his house and stole Rs4.5 million and $18,000.

Burglars also stole cash and valuables from a house at G-11/2. The incident took place at the house of Mohammad Ahsan when the residents had left for outing.

On return, the family found cash Rs200,000, a bike and two laptops stolen.
