SUKKUR: Two workers sustained critical injuries on Thursday when a battery exploded at a car showroom near the Ghotki Stop in Khanpur Mahar, Ghotki district.

The incident occurred while the men were at work, splashing them with corrosive acid and inflicting severe burns, according to local reports.

The injured workers have been identified as Munir Qazi and Farhan Mahar.

The victims were initially shifted to the Taluka Hospital, Khanpur Mahar. But due to unavailability of specialised treatment facilities, they were later referred to the Indus Hospital in Ghotki for further medical care.

Hospital sources said both injured men were in critical condition.
