Kidnappings galore

WE often hear of kidnappings, especially in Sindh and Balochistan. Recently, my family became a victim of such criminal gangs when my brother-in-law, a retired director of the provincial Excise and Taxation Department, was abducted by unknown armed men near Zehri Naka in Balochistan’s Surab district while he was travelling from Quetta to Karachi. Since that tragic day, our family has been living through unbearable pain, fear and uncertainty.

His children anxiously wait for a phone call, hoping it may bring news of their father’s safe return. Every passing hour deepens the agony of his family, relatives, friends and loved ones.

Federal and provincial governments as well as law-enforcement agencies should recover my relative. This is not merely the tragedy of one family; it is a matter of dignity, peace and the safety of citizens.
