BAHAWALPUR: A seminary teacher allegedly tortured a minor boy studying there to death at Noorpur Chakkar, Mauza Chandrani, in Musafirkhana police station precincts, about 30kms from here.

According to Rescue 1122 officials and police sources, Hasnain (12), son of Javed, was a student at the seminary run by Qari Adnan.

The sources say that the boy was allegedly tortured to death by his teacher, adding that the motive of the murder was yet to be ascertained.

The rescuers say that they received the victim’s body on their way to mauza Chandrani and shifted it under police supervision to Ahmedpur East THQ hospital for the postmortem examination.

Till the filing of this story, the first information report had not been registered.

However, according to police, on DPO Rana Abdul Wahab’s orders, the seminary’s three officials, including prime suspect Qari Adnan, have been taken into custody and investigation was being conducted on merit.
