Two die in separate incidents in Pindi

RAWALPINDI: A man shot and killed his sister after being scolded for being out of work, while another man who was critically injured after being stabbed during a quarrel succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

According to FIR lodged by Khurshid Ahmad, resident of Chontra area, his son had not been working ever since he completed his education, and his daughter, 24, would taunt him for this. He further said that on Tuesday, his daughter scolded her brother and told him to go and earn something, which “infuriated him”. He got annoyed and shot his sister in rage.

“Though his daughter went inside a room to save herself, he followed her and allegedly shot at her, which seriously injured her,” Mr Ahmed said in the FIR.

He further said the suspect managed to escape from the scene. His daughter was being shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital but she succumbed to her injuries.

Meanwhile, a man, a resident of R.A. Bazaar, who was injured critically after being stabbed during a quarrel on Monday, succumbed to his injuries in hospital on Tuesday, police said.

An FIR lodged by Saima Imran said that she and her son were standing outside their house on Monday night when three persons started quarreling with her son. She said one of the suspects allegedly stabbed her son as a result of which he was injured critically and later died on Tuesday. She said a few days ago, the alleged killer exchanged words with her son over a petty issue.

Meanwhile, a young man drowned in Phalina Dam, Kallar Syedan, on Tuesday.

According to emergency services Rescue 1122, Luqman Tahir, 21, drowned in Phalina Dam while taking a bath. Later, his body was fished out of the water by rescue staff and handed over to his heirs.
