KASUR:A woman along with her accomplice allegedly sprinkled petrol on her husband and set him ablaze at Raja Jang village on Monday.

Police said Aasia Bibi had an alleged affair with a man Asif and she along with her friend allegedly set her husband Adeel Iqbal ablaze. The victim sustained severe burn injuries and was initially shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital. Due to his critical condition, he was later referred to Jinnah Hospital, Lahore.

The suspects managed their escape. Further investigation is under way.

ACCIDENT: A woman and her three-year-old daughter were killed, while three other women sustained serious injuries when a truck overturned onto an electric bike on the Kot Radha Kishan-Phoolnagar Road near Mithradas village on Monday.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, the electric bike was carrying five family members Hareem (3), her mother Sidra Bibi (25), Gudo Bibi (45), Chhema Bibi (49) and Maqboolan Bibi (57).

Rescue officials said the truck lost balance, overturned and fell onto the bike. Hareem and her mother were crushed on the spot. The three women seated at the rear fell off the vehicle and suffered serious injuries.

The injured were shifted to the Kot Radha Kishan THQ Hospital for treatment.

The truck driver fled the scene.
