RAWALPINDI: Awaam Pakistan Party (APP) Secretary General Miftah Ismail on Saturday said that the country was facing economic difficulties and unemployment was increasing while the government failed to address the basic problems in the federal budget.

“Due to wrong economic policies, inflation increases and average household income decreases,” he said and added that his party would bring the country back into economic growth while improving the economic policies.

He was addressing the function held here in connection with the membership drive of Awaam Pakistan Party (APP) at its local Secretariat at Waris Khan. The ceremony was attended by local workers and supporters.

Addressing the gathering, Miftah Ismail emphasised that Pakistan belonged to all citizens and that equal rights must be ensured for every Pakistani, including minorities, marginalised groups and transgender people.

He said that Awaam Pakistan would continue raising its voice against false cases, injustice, the exploitation of minorities, poverty, and unemployment.

He stressed that no Pakistani can be truly safe unless all the country’s border will secure. Central Information Secretary Dr Zafar Mirza stated that Awam Pakistan was founded to bring positive political, economic, and democratic change to the country.

He said that the governance system of the past 77 years had failed to address the problems of ordinary citizens, which is why the party came forward. He described women’s political representation, internal party democracy, and equal rights for minorities as key priorities of the party.

Central Vice President Chaudhry Inam Zafar said that after a 42-year political career, he joined Awaam Pakistan because of his trust in the honesty and transparency of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

He said that Awaam Pakistan had emerged as an alternative political force committed to ending dynastic politics and corruption.

Other speakers said that party workers are performing their responsibilities with complete trust and confidence in his leadership, which is highly encouraging. Minority representative Mumtaz Bhatti highlighted the concerns and sentiments of the Christian community and drew attention to the challenges faced by minorities in Pakistan.

Pastor Asif and Pastor Nasir offered prayers for the prosperity of the country, the nation, and Awaam Pakistan. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening the party’s organisational activities, membership campaign, and public outreach efforts.
