GRAVE NEGLIGENCE

GRAVE NEGLIGENCE: I witnessed a heart-breaking incident at a hospital in Turbat where a pregnant woman and her newborn baby lost their lives during an operation. According to reports, a grave negligence by the medical staff caused this tragic incident. The painful cries of the family members deeply affected everyone present there. Hospitals are meant to save lives and provide safety to patients. Such incidents create fear among the public and raise serious questions about the responsibility and professionalism of hospital staff. Medical professionals should be trained to handle critical cases. The authorities concerned should thoroughly investigate such incidents and take strict action.

PUBLIC BUSES: The residents of Dhoraji Colony are forced to rely on expensive ride-hailing services, rickshaws or private vehicles due to the unavailability of public buses. After the recent hike in fuel prices, the cost of commuting by the rickshaws or taxis has skyrocketed. Students are facing immense difficulty in reaching their educational institutions. In the past, only one bus route, M-1, used to serve the area. Eventually, that service was discontinued. The relevant authorities should introduce a dedicated bus service and establish routes that connect the area with major universities, business districts and employment centres. This would enable people to reach their destinations conveniently.

OVERHEAD BRIDGE: There should be a pedestrian overhead bridge in front of Pakistan Television Employees Co-operative Housing Society, commonly known as the PTV Society, opposite East City Hospital in Ahsanabad. Some pro-minent institutions are located in the vicinity, and hundreds of students and pedestrians have to cross the busy Maymar Avenue adjacent to the M-9 Motorway. My mother met an accident there and had her bone fractured. The government should construct a pedestrian bridge there.
