Cautious globalisation

IN today’s fast moving world, globalisation has become one of the most discussed topics across the globe. The world is changing rapidly, and countries are now more connected than ever before. Distances no longer matter as technology, trade, education and communication have turned the world into one big entity.

Today, information travels from one corner of the world to another within seconds. Students attend online classes from international universities while sitting at home, and businesses promote their products worldwide through the internet. This has opened countless opportunities for learning, earning and innovation.

Economically, globalisation has led to the creation of job opportunities. In countries like Pakistan, freelancing, online busi-nesses and the information technology (IT) sector at large are growing rapidly because of global connectivity. Many young people are now earning independently through digital platforms and contributing positively to the economy.

Globalisation is a powerful force that has connected the world in remarkable ways, but it has also introduced social, cultural as well as economic challenges. It is important for nations to adopt globali-sation wisely while protecting their own identity, values and environment.
