Biker run over, killed by mobile crane

KARACHI: A young motorcyclist was run over and killed by a mobile crane on main Mauripur Road on Friday, police said.

A traffic police official said that the driver of the crane (JS-2865) was on his way from Mirza Adam Road towards ICI Bridge when it collided with the motorcycle (KQW-1175). As a result, Moiz, 22, and Farhan Mohammed, 15, sustained critical injuries.

They were taken by an ambulance to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi. However, Moiz died during treatment.

The police claimed to have impounded the heavy vehicle and arrested the driver, identified as Mohammed Asif.
