KARACHI: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has reiterated the Sindh government’s commitment to further intensify its efforts to provide the people with a clean, safe and sustainable environment.

“Protecting the environment is a collective responsibility. In order to ensure a safe future for coming generations, we must adopt and promote an environmentally friendly lifestyle,” he said in a statement.

He said that the Sindh government was setting a new example in the country for environmental protection and took several practical steps in this regard.

He said that the government had introduced the concept of green transport by launching electric (EV) buses in the first phase.

He further stated that a plan to add hundreds more electric buses to the public transport system had also been approved. “This initiative will not only provide improved travel facilities to citizens but will also help promote environmentally friendly transportation,” he said.
