KARACHI: Pakistan women’s netball trials will be held on June 7 in Karachi to select players for the Asian Women’s Netball Championship, which also serves as the Asian qualifier for the 2027 Netball World Cup in Australia, the federation announced on Wednesday.

The one-day open trials, organised by the Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) in collaboration with the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), will take place here at the PSB Coaching Centre starting at 5:00 pm, PNF president Sameen Malik confirmed.

Female players from across the country are expected to participate, with instructions issued to provincial associations, regional bodies and departmental teams to nominate and facilitate eligible players.

Only the winner and runner-up of the Aug 7-16 championship in Hong Kong will earn World Cup qualification under World Netball stipulations.

Other competing nations include Singapore, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, India, Maldives, Taiwan, Japan, Bahrain, Thailand, South Korea and hosts Hong Kong.
